DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary System records, the primary route description for Interstate 280 in Scott County was revised.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

New Description - Interstate 280 and its extensions in Scott County described as follows:

Davenport:

Commencing at the Iowa‑Illinois State line on the Mississippi River with its connection with Illinois Interstate 280 (approximately 6433 feet east and 400 feet south of the NW Corner Section 17-T77N-R3E); thence northwesterly through Sections 17, 8, 7, and 6-T77N-R3E and Section 1-T77N-R2E to approximately 1391 feet west of the NE Corner of said Section 1); thence northerly through Sections 36, 25, 24, 13, 12, and 1-T78N-R2E and Section 36-T79N-R2E to the junction of Interstate 80 (near the Center of said Section 36).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Interstate System Records Interstate 280 in Scott County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Interstate System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Interstate 280 in Scott County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Interstate System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Interstate 280 and its extensions in Scott County as follows:

Davenport:

Commencing at the Iowa‑Illinois State line on the Mississippi River with its connection with Illinois Interstate 280; thence northwesterly to the west corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Commencing on the west corporation line of the City of Davenport connecting with an unnamed street; thence northwesterly through Section 1‑T77N‑R2E (junction US 61); and northwesterly and northerly through Sections 36,25,24,13 and 12‑T78N‑R2E to the south corporation line of the City of Davenport connecting with an unnamed street.

Davenport:

Commencing on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly through Section 1‑T78N‑R2E and Section 36-T79N-R2E to the intersection of Interstate 80 at a point approximately 2,687 feet east from the west line of Section 36‑T79N‑R2E.

Commencing on the west corporation line of the City of Davenport; thence northwesterly through Section 1‑T77N‑R2E; thence northwesterly and northerly through Sections 36, 25, 24, 13 and 12‑T78N‑R2E to the south corporation line of the City of Davenport.

Davenport:

Commencing at the Iowa‑Illinois State Line on the Mississippi River with its connection with Illinois Interstate 280; thence northwesterly to the west corporation line.

Also

Commencing on the south corporation line thence north through Section 1‑T78N‑R2E and Section 36‑T79N‑R2E to the intersection of Interstate 80 at a point approximately 2,687 feet east from the west line of Section 36‑T79N‑R2E.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa State Highway Commission approve the location of Interstate 280 in Scott County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
